Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad was discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) today after undergoing a routine check-up since Saturday.
His special officer Sufi Yusoff told Bernama that Mahathir was discharged from the country's premier heart centre at noon after completing a set of comprehensive cardiac investigations.
His condition is reported well, he said.
Mahathir, who was admitted at 5.30pm on Saturday, did not receive any visitors while at the hospital.
He underwent a coronary artery bypass operation in 1989 and has been going for routine periodic checks since then.
He suffered a heart attack last November, at the height of his public criticisms of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. He suffered a second attack in May, while vacationing in Langkawi.
