      The Malacca government will apply to develop an area gazetted as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Cultural and Scientific Organisation (Unesco), the state assembly was told.

      Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh said today that an application submitted under the previous state administration was rejected by the National Heritage Department.

      Therefore, a new application had to be made to give way to the Straits of Melaka Waterfront Economic Zone (SMWEZ) project...
