Former Selangor Umno chief Nor Omar confirmed yesterday that he has joined Bersatu.
The former Tanjong Karang MP said he applied online on Wednesday without anyone's knowledge and it was immediately approved.
"I chose Bersatu to continue my political struggle and let's board a new ship for the sake of religion, race and country,” the 66-year-old said via a video clip shared with the media.
Noh was sacked from Umno after being involved in a party disciplinary violation during the 15th general election.
Muhyiddin lauds move
Meanwhile, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin welcomed Noh’s official entry to the party, citing active involvement in recent electoral campaigns.

“I see Noh’s readiness to formally join Bersatu as the right move that provides space for him to contribute more meaningfully to the party.
“I pray that his move to Bersatu will increase public support for the party and strengthen PN towards the 16th general election,” he said.
