'Wait-and-see' RON95 policy
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says the government is resolute in making decisions for the country's good, even when it is unpopular.
However, Anwar also indicated that the government will not be rushing to pull blanket subsidies for RON95.
Anwar told Parliament that there is a policy paper ready for quick implementation yet.
He also said that the government wants to look at the impact of rationalisation of electricity, diesel, and chicken first, and how the people are reacting to it.
The policy's main architect, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli, had previously said the plan should be implemented by year-end.

Meritocracy with quotas
The government's plans to both uphold meritocracy and racial quotas with the matriculation programme are still leaving heads scratching.
The Education and Higher Education Ministries have not yet outlined how exactly this would work, beyond assuring that SPM graduates with 10As or higher will get a spot if they apply to join the programme.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, meanwhile, reasoned that the move could help ease racial tensions.

Ultramarathon for equal funding
Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman completed a 200km run from Muar to Parliament.
His run which began in Muar on Friday (June 28) and ended on Monday was to call for government allocations for constituencies held by opposition MPs.
He also aimed to raise donations during the event, which would be channelled to his constituents.
He raised RM160,000 in donations.
