A prosecution witness in the Altantuya murder trial, in continuing his testimony today, denied that the police knew beforehand the place where the Mongolian national was killed.

Chief Inspector Koh Fei Cheow (photo), 38, said the police only knew of the crime scene after accused Azilah Hadri had led the police to a remote jungle clearing in Puncak Alam in Shah Alam.

Koh then spent most of the afternoon denying alleged situations put forth to him by Azilah's counsel Kuldeep Kumar.

Kuldeep: Did you know that Zainuddin told the first accused "Azilah, today I'm very happy. We have found the location of the crime scene. You don't have to tell us. Sirul is also back. You just follow the Chinese officer that's going to get you."

Koh: I don't know what Zainuddin said to Azilah.

Kuldeep: Did you know that Azilah told Zainuddin: "Sir, if you already know the location of the crime scene. Why do you want to bring me there?"

Koh: I had no knowledge on the conversation between Zainuddin and Azilah.

Kuldeep: Do you agree that when you took Azilah from lock-up at the Kuala Lumpur city police headquarters, you knew where the crime took place?

Koh: I don't agree.

'Show you what?'

The cross-examination in court took a theatrical turn when Kuldeep audibly enacted an alleged conversation that took place between Zainuddin and Azilah.

Kuldeep questioned Koh if Zainuddin shouted to Azilah: "Forward! Forward! Show us! Show us!" when they were at the crime scene.

The lawyer then added that Azilah replied Zainuddin, saying "Show you what? Show you what? I don't know this place!"

Koh denied this exchange between Azilah and Zainuddin ever taking place.

Kuldeep finally asked Koh again before the end of the cross-examination if the police had prior knowledge of the location of the crime scene even before they brought Azilah there.

"It is a case where the police is leading the accused to a recover. Do you agree?"

Koh denied the allegation once again.

The blast site

Previously, Koh told the court during his examination-in-chief that when they were at the crime scene, Azilah told him that "this is the place where the Mongolian woman was blown up".

"He showed us the way to the crime scene voluntarily" he added.

According to Koh, Azilah also led him to another area roughly 30ft from the "blast site" and told him: "This is where the Mongolian woman was shot".

Koh said that upon surveying the "blast site", he found human bone fragments and found burn marks in the area.

Police officers Azilah, 31, and Sirul Azhar Umar, 36, are charged with killing Altantuya between 10pm on Oct 19 and 1am on Oct 20 last year.

Political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda, 47, is charged with abetting them. All three face the death penalty if convicted.

The trial will continue tomorrow morning starting with cross-examination by Sirul's lawyer Kamarul Hisham Kamaruddin.
