Family members of detained blogger Nathaniel Tan, 26, said he is fine and "being treated well".

"I'm relieved that we have been able to see him for a (while) and to talk to him. He has been treated well," said his father, Bob Tan, when contacted today.

Four family members and several close friends were permitted to meet with Tan today for an hour around 3pm at the Commercial Crimes Department in Bukit Perdana, Jalan Dato Onn, in Kuala Lumpur.

Tan, who was being questioned there, was later scheduled to be returned to the Dang Wangi police district headquarters.

The family has met with him three times since his arrest - late last Friday night, on Saturday morning and today. He has been remanded for four days until tomorrow.

"He's doing fine. They're feeding him nasi goreng," said Bob (left).

"He said that his will has not been tempered by the experience. He said he is drawing strength from the fact that (PKR de facto leader) Anwar Ibrahim and (PKR information chief) have been (previously) detained."

Bob added that his son has "taught other prisoners to chant reformasi", the battle cry of then Keadilan in seeking a wide range of reform in Malaysia from 1998. Tan is currently the PKR webmaster.

Tan is being investigated for allegedly breach of Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act 1972, in relation to a comment left on his blog site linking Deputy Internal Security Minister Mohd Johari Baharum to a corruption allegation.

Johari has been cleared of any wrongdoing following an investigation.
