I would suggest that everyone keep calm and watch the case of Kamariah Ali, 54, the wife of Ayah Pin, who has publicly stated in the Syariah courts that she is an apostate and is no longer a Muslim.

Let us see how the court handles her case. Her case is in many ways similar to that of Lina Joy's as she is

  • born a Muslim

  • has declared that she has left Islam and

  • her case was referred to the Syariah courts.

Let us see how the Syariah courts rule on Kamaria's case first before advising Lina Joy to go to the Syariah courts to get herself declared an apostate.
