MCMC will uphold information integrity under CMA 1998

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has reiterated that action taken by the commission against irresponsible media outlets is not to stifle freedom of the press but to ensure information dissemination is done responsibly and without the spread of slander or misinformation.

MCMC in a statement last night said that it operates under the provisions of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA 1998) as the regulatory body for the communications and multimedia industry in Malaysia.
