PN wave grows
The six state elections on Saturday ended with a 3-3 result.
However, this was far from the status quo.
PN made a clean sweep in Terengganu, wiped out BN in Kedah and won Kelantan with 43 out of 45 seats.
It also made major inroads in Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor.
PN's gains in Selangor most notably denied Harapan-BN a two-thirds majority in the state.

BN shaken
The drubbing by PN left BN the biggest loser in the state polls.
It only won two seats each in Selangor and Penang, and one seat in Kelantan.
The only state where BN truly shined was Negeri Sembilan, where it won 14 of the Madani coalition's 31 seats.
The poor results are stirring a rebellion within Umno that might lead to a change in leadership.

Harapan at crossroads
The lead-up to the six state elections saw Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Harapan pandering to conservative Malays.
This includes banning Swatch watches that had LGBT elements.
Saturday's polls and PN's gains, however, indicate that Harapan has not won over the Malays.
Meanwhile, the pandering has also caused unease among Harapan's non-Malay supporters.
The question now is whether Harapan will continue to pander to the right, or move in another direction in order to get Malay support.
