The Federal Court has postponed hearing of an appeal by R Subashini for the second consecutive day. The case is scheduled to be heard tomorrow.

Subashini, 28, is appealing the appellate court's decision to uphold a High Court ruling, directing her to seek legal redress from the Syariah court over family-related developments from her husband's recent conversion to Islam.

Her lawyer Harris Ibrahim said the Federal Court had asked both parties to narrow down the points of law to be argued.

The appellate court on March 30 had also issued an interim injunction to restrain her Muslim-convert husband Muhammad Shafi Saravanan Abdullah (formerly T Saravanan), 31, from pursuing his claims in the Syariah Court.

He is seeking custody of their two children - aged three and one- and a decree of divorce from Subashini.
