No plans for hate speech laws

PARLIAMENT | Putrajaya does not plan to enact new legislation to deal with hate speech as present laws are sufficient, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.

National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang (above) said the existing laws include Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 which covered seditious statements and abuse of network facilities respectively...
