BN won't take state polls lightly, says Mat Hasan

BN will not take the impending state elections lightly, including in the unity government-administered states, said BN deputy chairperson Mohamad Hasan.

Mohamad said focus will be given to all the six states involved, especially on the readiness of the party machinery.

“We cannot say we have the advantage in Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang (which are led by the unity government). There is no such thing because an election is just like a football game,” he told reporters after officiating at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Tuanku Ja’afar Parent-Teacher Association’s meeting in Seremban today.

The other states that will face the polls are Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah which are all under opposition rule.

The BN election director added that BN and Pakatan Harapan will contest all seats in the state elections, however, negotiations on seat allocations have yet to be finalised.

“Let’s strengthen the machinery first. Then, once it is ready, the party leaders will negotiate the distribution of seats and nominate winnable candidates,” he said.
