3R task force nabs another suspect for 'insulting Islam'

The police’s 3R (race, religion, royalty) task force has arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly insulting Islam in a video that has gone viral.

The suspect, detained in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur yesterday, had purportedly mocked the Islamic salam greeting. Two mobile phones and three SIM cards were also seized.

The Arabic Salam comes from the Hebrew Shalom. It comes from military history and means Peace. A soldier approaching an enemy camp will say Shalom to indicate that he comes in Peace. Later Shalom became a form of greeting calling for Peace in the heart.
