I refer to the letter Better for many to select judges rather than just one.

I can take the point by Chief Justice Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim that there cannot be absolute freedom or transparency in Malaysia. All educated Malaysians know that the integrity of the Malaysian judiciary came sliding down after the late Lord President Tun Suffian's retirement. After that, the judiciary came under a tremendous attack from the executive under the previous prime minister which saw the sacking of several judges including Tun Salleh Abbas.

The recent call by the chief justice for judges not to socialise with lawyers and corporate figures comes a little too late. Instead of empty talk calling for the resignation of 'bad' judges, which at the end of the day is nothing but empty talk, it is actually timely for him to walk the talk.

What action has been taken by the judiciary themselves against their 'bad' brethren? If you Ahmad Faizruz truly believe in the post you hold as the chief justice of Malaya, then I think you should dispense justice.

The call by Karpal Singh to set up a independent judicial commission is not akin to 'nudity'. In any event, you or your judges have nothing to hide if you have carried out your duties with full honour, honesty and integrity according to the law of the land.

No more empty talk Mr Chief Justice, just do justice.
