PN settles seat distributions - Muhyiddin

Perikatan Nasional has finalised its seat distribution among three components from Peninsular Malaysia - Bersatu, PAS, and Gerakan.

PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin said all three parties had shown tolerance and respect throughout the negotiation process, leading to a final decision made during today’s supreme council meeting that he chaired.

“The seat distribution is completed. In the next few days, we will set a date for each state to announce the seats and candidates. All under PN’s name,” said Muhyiddin, who is also Bersatu president, after the meeting held at his party headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

“We have instructed all divisions, the operation centres will be under PN’s name.

“We issued the instruction so that all component parties will work to assist each other,” he said.

At the same time, Muhyiddin confirmed that all PN’s candidates in Kelantan and Terengganu will be fielded under PAS’ logo.

Candidates in Kedah, while also a PAS-held state, will however run under the PN logo, said Muhyiddin.

In a rare appearance, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang was seen in attendance at the PN meeting, although he declined to speak to reporters, citing a sore throat.

Others from PAS comprise deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
