MACC completes investigation paper on judge Nazlan
MACC has confirmed the investigation paper involving the case of Court of Appeal Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali has been completed.
Its chief commissioner Azam Baki said the commission is awaiting further instructions from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC).

"As I have mentioned before, so far I am unable to announce any instructions from the AGC. For the time being, I reserve my comments in the investigation,” he said during a dialogue session in the MACC Cakna programme with Northern Zone Media yesterday.
On Aug 21, Attorney-General Idrus Harun reportedly said the investigation paper on Nazlan (above) was not with the AGC.
MACC had opened an investigation paper on Nazlan following a police report denying blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin’s allegations that the judge had a sum of money from an undetermined source in his account.
Mitra funds case
Separately, Azam said six more individuals including company directors, an organisation chairperson, and a secretary are expected to be charged in court over the misappropriation of funds belonging to the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra).
He said the probes in the case have been completed and to date, 33 investigation papers have been opened with eight individuals charged in court.
“We expect the AGC to charge six more,” he added.
Meanwhile, Azam said the MACC is prepared to assist political parties screen candidates contesting in the coming 15th general election.
He said although there is no law or policy to force the agency to screen candidates for GE15, they will try to help political parties do so.
"I believe other departments are also conducting the screening required by political parties. So, in the MACC case, we are ready to conduct an investigation in terms of corruption, if necessary," he added.
