Shah Alam MP Khalid Abdul Samad has called on Pakatan Harapan leaders to close ranks and stop engaging in public squabbles that only serve to shoot themselves in the foot.
Speaking at a Harapan rally yesterday evening, the Amanah communications director reminded his colleagues in the coalition to train their guns on their rivals instead.
"Any misunderstandings should be discussed at the Harapan presidential council.
"We have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot and show the public our ability to win at the coming general election," he said.
He regretted that some differences of opinion between the coalition leaders had undergone a public airing.
"It is time for the coalition to discuss strategies on how to win the next general election. We should also focus on the BN and Perikatan Nasional coalitions," said Khalid.
Harapan currently holds the state governments in Penang, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan.
However, the coalition has taken a bashing in state elections in Sabah, Sarawak, Malacca, and Johor and is expected to do poorly in the coming general election.
Tensions among coalition partners and within the individual parties themselves have been a part of the decline in the perception that Harapan can repeat its 2018 general election win.
