Malaysiakini video crew was in Batu Talam yesterday to capture the mood of the voters in this straight fight between Barisan Nasional's Abdul Aziz Kiram and the young Ng Chee Pang.

We were also at the Raub Silver Jubilee Hall where the result was officially announced.

In the end , it proved to be an easy victory for BN. Abdul Aziz steamrolled past the 22-year-old Ng by amassing a whopping 5,857-vote majority.

Abdul Aziz, 46, gained 6,276 votes while Ng garnered 419 votes. Ng also lost his RM5,000 deposit.

The video also includes a press conference by Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and the jubilant winning candidate moments after BN retained the seat.
