The murder trial of Mongolian beauty Altantuya Shaariibuu is set to be heard at the Shah Alam High Court on March 10, 2008.

Judge KN Segara fixed the date today when the case came up for mentioning in his court. He set aside four weeks to hear the case.

Chief Insp Azilah Hadri, 30, and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar, 35, were charged with the murder of the 28-year-old part-time model, who was shot dead and her body blown up with explosives in a secondary jungle in Shah Alam, Selangor.

Top analysts Abdul Razak Baginda was charged with abetting with them to commit the crime. The case will be heard jointly.

Meanwhile, Abdul Razak whose RM1 million bail expires today, failed to get it extended as his lawyer had not made a formal application to the court.

The oral application was rejected by the judge and Abdul Razak was detained under police custody.

"Submit a formal application. This is a serious offence," Segara told Abdul Razak's lawyer Wong Kian Kheong.

"I am not interested (to hear the oral application). I want it in an affidavit. You had more than sufficient time to do so.

"I have made up my mind and I am not entertaining any other requests," he said.

Wong filed a formal application later in the day and the matter will be heard on Jan 19.

In the meantime Abdul Razak has been taken to the Sungai Buloh prison for custody. He will remain there until his bail application is heard.
