New electricity tariff to be implememted next month - minister
The new electricity tariff for 2022 - 2024 is expected to be implemented from Feb 1, said Energy and Natural Resources Minister Takiyuddin Hassan.
He said the decision on the new power tariff was finalised on Wednesday after being discussed six times in cabinet meetings.

He said the decision on the new power tariff was finalised on Wednesday after being discussed six times in cabinet meetings.
"The announcement on the new tariff will be made soon, and we will implement the Incentive-Based Regulation (IBR) on Feb 1.
"I can assure you that the new tariff will not burden the people," Sinar Harian quoted him as saying yesterday.
Previously, Takiyuddin said the government has taken into consideration the country's current situation that is recovering from the economic crisis following the Covid-19 pandemic in determining the new electricity tariff.
