Terengganu floods: 140 evacuated
Since floods hit Terengganu two days ago, there has been a slight increase in the number of evacuees to 140 people, involving 54 families, as of 8am today.
This is from 135 people (44 families) at 4pm yesterday.
The flood has also spread to Besut, making it the third district to be affected. A relief centre was set up there at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Baharu yesterday to accommodate 10 victims from four families.

According to a statement issued by the Terengganu State Disaster Management Committee, there are seven relief centres currently operating, four in Setiu, two in Kuala Nerus, and one in Besut.
"In Setiu, the number of victims has dropped following the closure of two relief centres, at Masjid Kampung Merbau Menyusut and Balai Raya Kampung Bari Besar, after all evacuees returned home.
"Currently, the relief centre at Masjid Gong Terap has the highest number of evacuees, 56 victims (33 families), followed by Masjid Chalok Kedai (19 victims from four families), Balairaya Kampung Bukit Mak Som (13 victims from two families), and SK Kampung Besut (eight victims from four families),” it said.
In Kuala Nerus, 28 people from six families are still at the relief centre at SK Kompleks Mengabang Telipot , while six families are at Surau Mak Jintan.
Meanwhile, based on public flood information on the Drainage and Irrigation Department portal, the waters at all rivers in Terengganu was reported as below the danger level as of 7.45am today.
Sungai Nerus at Kampung Bukit, in Setiu, was measured at 12.56m, which is slightly above the warning level of 12m.
In Hulu Terengganu, the reading at Tembat Dam was 430.49m. The warning level there is 430m.
It is reported to be raining in all districts, with heavy rain in several areas.
