Do not let dissatisfaction become a reason to topple leaders, taint the party and government as well as to cause problems, said Umno Wanita chief Rafidah Aziz today.

"Every individual has the right to speak, reprimand and criticise but nobody has the right to make inaccurate accusations which are merely slanderous," she was quoted as saying by Bernama.

In her speech at the Umno Wanita annual meet in Kuala Lumpur, she said there will be always be dissatisfied quarters in the party.

According to her, these are people who did not get what they wanted or failed when competing with others for certain things.

"Nobody can please everyone on all matters all the time," said the veteran politician, who is also the international trade and industry minister.

At present, Rafidah said, slanderous and baseless allegations appear to have become the norm.

She warned that Umno will see its power and credibility diminish if there is disunity among the members who are being split by slander and factional interests.

"As a party, members must remember that 'united we stand, divided we fall'," she added.

She said disturbances and obstacles either from within the party or from outside will lead the government and people to turn their attention towards unproductive issues.

Rafidah was among those severely criticised by former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad in his attacks against the current administration.

The former premier had questioned the discrepancies in the issuance of Approved Permits (APs) to import vehicles which falls under the International Trade and Industry Ministry.

Not about tenders and contracts

Meanwhile, Rafidah said the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) is not merely about projects and contracts but covered various other aspects.

She said the plan encompasses all parties, all sectors and aspects, with emphasis on economic growth, competitiveness and the country's dynamism, giving priority to equal opportunities, social justice and involvement of all quarters.

"Unfortunately, there are people who equate the 9MP to awarding of tenders and contracts, as if the ninth plan is solely to dish out contracts and to spend for projects which involved contracts," she added.

She said the 9MP was the continuation of the previous five-year development plans towards realising the objectives outlined in the Vision 2020.

She said the 9MP comprehensively covered all projects, programmes, measures and policies to fulfil the people's needs in all fields, be it for infrastructure or support action by government agencies.

"Most of what is contained in the 9MP do not involve contracts or tenders," she said.

"It is more on programmes like training, learning, entrepreneurship, instilling first-class values and attitudes besides human capital development, including emphasis on women's interests," she added.

Rafidah said what needed to be ensured is the qualitative aspect of the ninth plan to achieve its objectives and targets, with the public sector machinery providing efficient, dedicated and trustworthy services to fulfil the people's expectations.

For the women, she said, the ninth plan accorded recognition for their capabilities as part of the nation's important human capital.
