Pejuang and Warisan shun PN
Pejuang and Warisan have denied allegations that their parties will cooperate with Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional.
Both parties issued separate statements following an article published by Sarawak Report yesterday which speculated that Pejuang and Bersatu founder Dr Mahathir Mohamad would be appointed as leader of the PN government's recovery plan.

Both parties issued separate statements following an article published by Sarawak Report yesterday which speculated that Pejuang and Bersatu founder Dr Mahathir Mohamad would be appointed as leader of the PN government's recovery plan.
In a statement today, Pejuang information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamudin said Mahathir has "repeatedly" rejected allegations that he would cooperate with PN.
"If Pejuang wants to work with Bersatu and PN, we need not work so hard to get our party approved; we can just return to our old party (Bersatu)," said Ulya.
In a separate two-paragraph statement, Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal said that the said article in Sarawak Report was "erroneous".
Mahathir is currently a proponent of a new governing entity similar to the National Operations Council during the 1968-1971 period which was not accountable to Parliament.
According to Mahathir, this is necessary in order to implement the measures needed to stem the spread of Covid-19 which currently has overwhelmed public hospitals in the Klang Valley.
Ulya's statement contradicts those made by Mahathir in November last year when the latter stated "there is a way" for him to work with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
Ulya claimed that Pejuang's political bureau had never discussed cooperation with Muhyiddin and instead was more focused on Mahathir's idea of setting up a different type of government.
He said Putrajaya's decision to allow Pejuang to be registered was the result of a court decision compelling the Home Ministry to do so and not the result of "backroom talks or political strategising".
Speculation that PN is currently trying to forge new allegiances has been fuelled by the fact that Umno has withdrawn support for Muhyiddin which would likely mean that the latter no longer has majority support in the Dewan Rakyat which will convene on July 26.
