Still no SOP update for agriculture sector
The government still has not issued any updates on the standard operation procedure (SOP) for the agriculture and livestock sector in Malaysia’s third day of total lockdown.
Up until 5.30pm today, both websites of the Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry (Mafi) and National Security Council (NSC) still did not provide any specific SOPs for the sectors above.

Up until 5.30pm today, both websites of the Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry (Mafi) and National Security Council (NSC) still did not provide any specific SOPs for the sectors above.
Yesterday evening, the ministry uploaded four specific SOPs for fishing, agriculture, veterinary service and livestock sectors on their website.
However, three of them were old versions of SOPs, dated Jan 15. Only the fishing sector SOP was given the latest version, which was updated on May 31.
The old SOPs were taken down earlier this morning after DAP's Tanah Rata assemblyperson Chiong Yoke Kong revealed the error.
When contacted, an officer from Mafi told Malaysiakini that the ministry had already prepared the latest SOPs but they have not yet been approved by the NSC.
“I am still waiting for the green light from the NSC. I have sent them the SOP documents but no reply yet.
“I will follow up with them again,” the officer said.
Chiong previously complained that vegetable farmers and traders in Cameron Highlands are bound by the current SOP, which limits operating hours between 8am and 8pm despite being in the essential service industry.
He said the latest restriction on operating hours has heavily affected the food supply chain in the highlands.
Chiong said a vegetable vendor was fined RM10,000 by the authority because they were packing vegetables at night.
