DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng challenged Gerakan president Lim Keng Yaik for a open debate on the statement of Singapore mentor minister Lee Kuan Yew.

"If he thinks Lee Kuan Yew or my statement is wrong, let's have a rational and logic open debate [...] he had not given any proof so far," he said this in a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

Lim also pointed out that more than 80 percent of the 59 comments left by visitors on the online blog, Monster Blog, set up by New Straits Times, agreed to the Lee's statement.

"This shows that Lim Keng Yaik is disassociated from the people. He should resign now instead of April next year."

He stressed that Lee's statement is partly correct, because not only Chinese, but Indians, indigenous people and bumiputras in east Malaysia and poor Malays have also been marginalised by the ruling parties.

Also present in the press conference were DAP parliamentarians Teresa Kok (Seputeh) and Tan Kok Wai (Cheras).
