I must say the great magician David Copperfield who managed to make the Great Wall of China disappears before our very eyes would envy our work minister who allegedly managed do the same with one of our flyovers.

I wonder with all the ACA report against the bigwigs lodged, how come there is no high-level criminal cases being initiated against these powerful individuals. Will this latest ACA report against the works minister gather dust like many others before it?

Somehow one tends to get the feeling that the present leadership have not learned the lessons of the past when endemic corruption and abuse of power were the norms. Now not only we hear scandals after scandals involving key individuals being highlighted by the press but the public are suffering from their sins with the increase in price of petrol and foodstuffs.

I suppose for the corrupt few who abuse their power prefer to live in a fool's paradise rather than the circle of hell. My fervent hope is that in the next general elections, the voters will see the present incumbents in government as they really are, self-serving politicians who abuse their power for personal gains, and vote these incompetent lot out of office.

Only a regime change can bring about real reforms in our society. The present government seems to wear the same cloth as the previous one as far as accountability and transparency are concern. Let us not be fooled by all the feel-good slogans of the present government and it is about time for the opposition form the government to initiate drastic changes.
