I am a free-thinker. So is my sister, and so are many of my friends.

Unwanted pregnancies? No.

Freely having sex? No.

Alcohol and drug abuse? No.

Note, I am not arguing against your right for having your own set of beliefs and opinions. And neither am I generalising that all free-thinkers are saints.

But I strongly protest the generalisation of those without religion as being those who are prone to problems or not having the means to rationalise the way the world works, other than through religion. I also refer to Albert's response to back me up.

Every person is human, and to err is human. It cannot be expected that religion could solve all of that. It would be unrealistic to say the least.

But there is something called universal values that any parent can teach their offspring without having to get religion into the picture.

These universal values are also found across the board for all religions in the world, such as you should not kill or hurt others, steal or lie and that we need to respect other humans. It does not exclusively belong to religion. I, like many other free thinkers, were never drilled with religious values or belief systems but universal values were always taught by parents and elders.

There is also the element of cultural values that each race may have, such as not dishonouring the family name, or the broad concept of "saving face". This has nothing to do with religion.
