It is heartening to note that Zainur Zakaria and his friends have researched and now concluded that no fatwa has been issued against lawyer Malik Imtiaz.

However, I believe it would have been much more appropriate - and indeed magnanimous and in the true spirit of Islam - if, at the same time, Zainur and Co had taken the opportunity to condemn the groups or individuals who had threatened to take a fellow human being's life.
