In reference to our government's decision to send peacekeeping troops to Lebanon, I must say I find this move totally unnecessary.

We do not have diplomatic relations with Israel and they have protested against Malaysian peacekeeping troops being sent there.

At this point of time, we do not have a definite ceasefire being enforced in the Middle East and both Hezbollah and Israel are capable of striking in the name of self-defence for the most trivial of reasons.

Are we going to expose our troops to this situation? Our troops are the defenders of our country and should they only fall when defending our country. Then we shall be proud and thankful.

Sending our troops to another part of the world for a problem which doesn't concern us in anyway (except for a Muslim party being involved) is not advisable .

There is no guarantee for the safety our beloved troops and our government is making a irrational decision in sending our troops there .

Why can't we send medical supplies, provisions, clothing's and other amenities to help out? Do not send any of our armed forces personnel if their safety will be compromised.
