ROS allows MCA to postpone party AGMs until June 2021
The Registrar of Societies (ROS) has informed MCA that it has approved the party's application to postpone MCA divisional AGMs, state conventions and the MCA General Assembly for 2020 until June 30, 2021, at the latest.

The Registrar of Societies (ROS) has informed MCA that it has approved the party's application to postpone MCA divisional AGMs, state conventions and the MCA General Assembly for 2020 until June 30, 2021, at the latest.
MCA secretary-general Chong Sin Woon said in a statement that after much deliberation by the MCA political development committee, it had been decided that the divisional AGMs of MCA and its women and youth wings must nonetheless be completed before Dec 31, 2020.
"The Youth and Women's wings of each state must then assemble for their respective 2020 state AGMs no later than Jan 31, 2020.
"The MCA annual meeting of the general assembly and its two wings at the central level will be held concurrently with next year's party anniversary celebrations," said Chong in a statement today.
He reminded all delegates to prioritise health and safety when holding the division and state AGMs of the two wings by strictly adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP) as stipulated by the National Security Council and Ministry of Health.
Chong added that the political development committee had also reached a resolution to forgo this year's MCA state conventions.
Earlier this week, DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke also announced that his party had obtained permission from the ROS to postpone its national congress and party election by up to six months, at a date no later than June 30, 2021.
