The Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) faction led by deputy president Sng Chee Hua will lodge a complaint with the Barisan Nasional (BN) top leadership at the state and federal levels against the party's 'censured' president Dr James Masing.

They claim that Masing had allegedly worked against BN's interest in the recent state election.

Sng ,who is now the acting president following the censure motion against Masing on June 14 soon after the elections, told malaysiakini today that the complaint will be lodged soon.

"We are compiling all the hard evidence, including sworn affidavits from several individuals, videos and photographs and will be writing officially to the BN disciplinary committee sometime this week," he added.

He said the evidence was related to allegations that Masing had supported the opposition against the BN candidate in Pelagus, Sng's son Larry.

Some senior BN leaders who were in Kapit during the elections were also aware that Masing was campaigning for the opposition, he claimed.

Larry was re-elected in the Iban-majority state constituency with a reduced majority in a three-cornered fight.

The 28-year-old politician polled 5,965 votes against independent Jeffrey Nuing's 2,726 votes and Snap candidate Simon Sibat's 541 votes.

Sng first raised the allegation against Masing during the election campaign period. The issue was supposed to be raised at PRS' first supreme council meeting - dominated by Sng's men - after the elections.

However, Masing - in what he described as a 'pre-emptive move' - sacked nine appointed supreme council members and replaced them with his own supporters.

Not perturbed

Sng said if Masing was genuinely concerned for the Iban community he should use the Dayak-based PRS as a platform instead of setting up a duplicate supreme council with his supporters.

The Sng faction has nominated PRS vice-president and Sri Aman MP Jimmy Donald as candidate for president at the party's extraordinary delegates meeting (EDC) scheduled for Sept 9. Masing has called this meeting illegal.

According to a report in the Borneo Post, Masing said he was not perturbed by the EDC and had the support of most PRS members at the grassroots level as well as all but one of the elected representatives.

The politician, who yesterday likened the EDC to a circus, said most of the party's divisions had pledged their support for his group.

Meanwhile, Donald told malaysiakini: "Masing is not in a position to make any comments on whether the EDC is a circus or not because he (Masing) has gone against the party constitution by dismissing the nominated members without giving notice."

The dismissed supreme council members had also lodged a complaint to the Registrar of Societies.
