(AFP) Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi played golf with with Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong today and later called on the Singapore leader for bilateral talks, officials said.
Abdullah, who is also the home affairs minister, called on Goh at the Istana state complex after a round of golf which also included Singapore Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng.
"They discussed developments in Malaysia and the areas in which the ministries of home affairs of the two countries are cooperating," a statement from Goh's press secretary said without giving details.
Both countries are located in a region where Islamic extremism is an increasing concern following the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States and Washington's ongoing war against terrorism.
