COMMENT | What nasty game will boorish Bung play?

COMMENT | It was a hollow victory. There is no cause for Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to celebrate its rise to power because it won by a very flimsy majority in the Sabah state election. GRS can fall anytime if some "toads" were to cross over to the Warisan Plus camp.

On the surface, it appears that the people want a change of government, but the verdict was not unanimous. Warisan also came out as the single biggest party, sending a clear message that the voters on the other side of the fence had rejected the peninsular style of politics.

But a victory is a victory and GRS has been given the mandate to govern the state. However, the disturbing part of the story is that Umno captured the most number of seats under the GRS umbrella, despite the fact that the tarnished party was toppled in the 2018 general election.

In the eyes of the public, Umno is seen as a party which has lost...
