Sabah PAS identifies seats to contest in upcoming state elections
Sabah PAS said they have identified seats which they could potentially contest in the upcoming state elections.

“PAS always puts forth charismatic candidates with integrity who can carry out their leadership duties fairly and justly,” said Sabah PAS commissioner Mohd Aminuddin Aling in a statement today.
He added that Sabah PAS is friendly with all political allies, especially in Sabah, and stressed that the most important thing is to win in the state elections.
“We will continue to prove our camaraderie as has been proven in the Kimanis by-election where we (Muafakat Nasional) was successful and won.
“Sabah PAS is very confident that if this camaraderie continues, it will surely bear the sweetest fruit,” said Mohd Aminuddin (below).
Sabah PAS contested in 19 state seats in the previous election but lost in all of them.
Meanwhile, their allies Umno-BN and Bersatu had some conflicts regarding the seats they aimed to contest in the upcoming state elections.
Sabah Bersatu chief Hajiji Mohd Noor previously said his party planned to contest 45 out of the 73 state seats, including eight traditional Umno seats which switched hands to Bersatu through defections.
Hajiji has courted criticism for this remark, including from Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan.
However, at the time, Sabah Umno chief Bung Moktar Radin had noted that Hajiji had said he was open to discussions and welcomed this.
Following a Sabah BN meeting on whether they will cooperate with Bersatu in the state elections, Bung said they would negotiate with their allies and contest in all 73 seats against Warisan.
Meanwhile, BN secretary-general Annuar Musa has urged Perikatan Nasional (PN) partners not to issue any statements which could damage their chances of winning in the upcoming Sabah state election.
He had also said it is within Bersatu’s rights to contest as many seats as it likes, although he added that PN allies must give way to the “stronger party” if they wish to confront Warisan in a straight fight.
As of the dissolution of the state assembly on July 30, Sungai Sibuga assemblyperson Musa Aman is Umno's sole lawmaker in Sabah.
He claimed to have mustered sufficient support from other assemblypersons to form a new state government, but this became moot following the dissolution of the state assembly.
