Contacted today, party information chief Tian Chua confirmed that PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Ismail accepted the resignation during the party's bi-monthly political bureau meeting.
To a question, Tian said that no reason was given by Abdul Rahman.
Abdul Rahman previously held the post of secretary-general and was appointed treasurer after a failed bid at challenging Dr Syed Husin Ali for deputy presidency during the Jan 2005 party polls.
Several candidates for the treasurer post have been identified by the party and an announcement would be made soon, said Tian.
