Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's call in Jakarta for the Christian West and the Islamic World to improve relations through dialogues received the support of PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

Nik Aziz said dialogues between the Christian West and the Islamic World are for the good of all.

"I fully support such dialogues," he said in a Bernama report.

The Kelantan menteri besar said there was no reason for Christians and Muslims to engage in religious conflict because "both religions come from the Almighty".

"The Christians cannot despise the Muslims and, likewise, the Muslims must not look down on the Christians," he said.

Nik Aziz said Abdullah's suggestion for both sides to engage in dialogues to resolve their differences should be fully supported as such a move would enhance world peace.
