Top seed China clinched the women's title for the 10th time by beating the Netherlands 3-0 in the 21st Uber Cup Badminton Final at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium today.

The Chinese squad took 128 minutes to secure their fifth consecutive win since winning the crown in 1998. It was the second time they had accomplished such a feat, having grabbed the Cup from 1984 to 1992, Bernama reported.

The fourth seeded Netherlands, which had never won the Cup since its inception in 1956, however, gave the Chinese players a run for their money.

In the first tie, world top woman shuttler Zhang Ning beat world number five Mia Audina Tjiptawan 21-18, 19-21, 21-18 in 64 minutes.

World number two Xie Xinfang then easily tamed Judith Meulendijks 21-17, 21-18 in 38 minutes and China's third singles Jiang Yanjiao sealed the tie 3-0 when she defeated Rachel Van Cutsen 21-9, 21-7 in 26 minutes.
