Komtar evacuated due to flooding

Several floors in Komtar, the Penang state government's administrative centre, were flooded today, leading to the evacuation of the building for safety reasons.

PDC Setia Urus chief executive officer Ang Choo Hong said workers were carrying maintenance in a pump room on the 61st floor.

"Workers working in the plant room at level 61, accidentally opened a strainer without shutting off the water supply first, causing water to gush out of the pipe and flow downstairs...
