Govt must conduct truth exercise

I refer to the report Police crack down on demo 22 arrested.
It was just waiting to happen. By being so ruthless against the helpless rakyat who were only trying to convey to the government their economic hardship as a result of the fuel hike, the government is fast losing the respect of the rakyat and its moral authority.
There is no way this government can hope to rebuild its moral authority if we still see injustices in the administration of the nation for example AP abuse, crooked, arrogant and/or intellectually dumb ministers and MP's, crony capitalism, burdensome taxes on vehicles, overpriced medicines, monopoly licenses and many, many more.
I would suggest that the government comes clean with Petronas' accounts for the last two decades and on the many other issues the rakyat needs answers to - sort of like a truth and reconciliation exercise. Only then can we again achieve a constructive relationship between the rakyat and their leaders.
Otherwise, this country will fast go beyond the point of no return - straight to the bottom.
