Knowing what we know of Pak Lah perhaps we should not be too disappointed with his 'new' cabinet. However after having waited so long for his moment of inspiration, I can't help but feel let down that his bulb did not light up at all, much less dazzle us with its brilliance.

In spite of what some papers are claiming that it is the leader's cabinet to take us forward and therefore we should support it, I humbly submit that this is a cabinet of a shackled leader unable to give it the luster of rejuvenation that the people and country badly needs.

After allowing the country to be subjected to the trials and tribulations of various controversies, Pak Lah now slinks back into his cozy sofa and pretends as if nothing has happened at all. What is the purpose of having an open style of government, allowing ministers and government agencies to be pummeled on the ropes and then lack the conviction to deliver the knock out punch. Things are indeed something rotten in Denmark, and Hamlet continues to agonise.

Of course his supporters will claim that it is all part of a grand plan. Let's just hope that for his sake that he indeed has one.
