PAS confident Anwar's 'evidence' just hearsay, vows to prove it
PAS has claimed it has documents which would prove PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's purported “evidence” that the Islamist party paid RM1.4 million to Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown was just hearsay.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the party will be holding a press conference on this soon.

"We will show everything. He (Anwar) said he checked with the London courts. We have all the documents and we will reveal everything.
"We are confident documents are stronger than mere words. We will answer based on the documents," Takiyuddin told reporters at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya today.
"I will show (that we didn't pay RM1.4 million), based on documents. Not like him (Anwar), he is only speaking based on hearsay," he added.
Yesterday Anwar reiterated his earlier claim that PAS had paid Rewcastle-Brown to settle party president Abdul Hadi Awang's defamation suit against her.
The Port Dickson MP stated he had evidence and dared PAS to challenge him on the matter.

Takiyuddin, meanwhile, said if Anwar had bank statements to prove his claims, then the latter should make it public.
"He has to show it. In my previous statement, I said that we handed in PAS’ bank statements from Jan 2015 to Dec 2018 to the MACC," he said.
Yesterday, PAS denied that Hadi paid the RM1.4 million as part of a Feb 1 out-of-court settlement.
Hadi had sued Rewcastle-Brown in London over a 2016 Sarawak Report article claiming that then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak channelled RM90 million to top PAS leaders in a bid for support ahead of the 14th general election.
On Feb 13, the PAS president said he had agreed to settle the suit with Sarawak Report and keep the conditions confidential.
“If she (Rewcastle-Brown) wants to reveal (the confidential conditions), it is up to her. I have not done so,” he added.
When contacted by Malaysiakini, Rewcastle-Brown declined to comment on the claim that Hadi had paid her the sum.
