I refer to your report Nyonya Tahir - a landmark judgment. This judgment, although raising hopes, also raises many questions.

  1. If the Syariah Court could accept a statutory declaration of one renouncing her Islamic faith, then can that apply all around? One then does not have to go to a Jabatan Agama Islam of any state to declare their intention to leave Islam.

  2. Now that the Syariah Court has allowed two non-Muslim as witnesses, will the Syariah Court which heard the Moorthy case review its decision?

  3. Is the ruling by the Seremban Syariah Court just an 'eye wash' to say all is fine and fair with the system when handling matters pertaining non-Muslims or is it just one-off thing?
