A bomb scare interrupted court proceedings at the Kuala Lumpur civil high courts today.
According to Dang Wangi deputy police chief Supt Mohd Rodzi Ismail, police was informed of the bomb threat slightly after 2pm. A bomb squad was despatched to the scene immediately.
Judges, lawyers and court staff were seen gathered at a open area behind the court house chatting with one another.
One lawyer said that they were notified of the threat by the police and was ordered to evacuate the building.
Under probe
Police allowed the crowd to re-enter the building at about 3.40pm after combing the area.
"So far, I have yet to receive any reports of any suspicious objects found within the vicinity, but my men are still investigating," said Rodzi when contacted.
The court house was the venue of the controversial suit by S Kaliammal who attempted to get the civil court to overturn a syariah court decision who ruled that deceased Everest climber M Moorthy was a Muslim.
