Ministry mulling making school mandatory until Form 5

It would be very revealing if you try once in a while to connect to the lower socio economic group to find out why the children do not study. The "curriculum" outside of school is more enticing and exciting than the boring schools. The jobs of drug pushing, cigarette pushing, firecracker sale, petty thefts and gang branding which finally culminates in a full fledged graduated thug who can throw their weight around is very luring.
Stop making our children stupid by abolishing exams and streaming. Without exams,children will be lay-back and non-competitive. Linking the public announcement of the result of gomen exam with "caring for poor students' emotion " is delusional. It seems that MOE is trying to make our students lazy and less competitve.Non-competitive is precisely the biggest problem in our society now.
