All youngsters should be taught by their parents and teachers to drive safely at normal speeds of 60 - 80 mph especially on highways. Beyond that, control of the car during an emergency is very difficult.

The Penang C.M should stop focussing on raising the height of the barrier on Penang Bridge. That had nothing to do with the cause or consequence of this tragic accident. The next accident could well involve the vehicle going through the barrier. What then? What is needed is strict enforcement and exemplary punishment. What happened to the driver who persistently blocked an ambulance? It was highlighted in the press but nothing has been heard of since then. PDRM should act firmly.

The families of the drivers should be charged for manslaighter. Many other drivers could have been killed. Our PDRM and JPJ are just plain useless drunk with bribery. This country is ungovernable and Penang appears to be the drug capital of Malaysia.

Was this an accident? There seem to be no end to this kind of lawlessness on our streets. Justice for whom? For the deceased? What about justice for the law abiding whose life were put at risk by these youngsters apparently speeding and weaving from one end to the other? It is precisely this kind of abuses of traffic rules by selfish speed demons and road bullies that we can do without. It is almost a daily occurrence on our many highways and it seems almost an impossible task for our law enforcers to apply the rules and make our highways safer for the law abiding.

Looking at the dashcam the footage, bother cars were spending. The driver with the dashcam was driving on the slow lane, most probably at 80km per hour. Both cars just flash past him with the blink of an eye, indicating that they were traveling at high speed.

The Mazda was speeding but based on the recording it is difficult to say with absolute certainty at what speed he was travelling since the speed of the car with the dash cam is also an unknown but definitely much slower than the other 2 cars. Whether the driver of the Mazda was speeding or stoned or both, he had the right of way and was not in the fault driving wise and only lost control of the vehicle by the impact of the vios.

Some of the comments are purely based on speculations and hearsay. These are from people who are too free and nothing to do. Just let the authorities do their duties and come out with a full report. Meanwhile, just leave the family of the deceased to grief their loss.

The second CCTV recording which showed the car plunge into the sea was from the bridge CCTV. There ought to be other recordings from CCTV 10km to 5km mainland bound. This would show if they were racing. If they were, the Mazda as seen in the car dashcam was leading.

Where did they get marijuana from? Since marijuana can be detected in the body for up to 30days, i suggest that both the deceased and all the attendees of the birthday party are tested.

They were BOTH racing. They had BOTH been drinking. It remains to be seen if the deceased too smoked weed. It was tragic that he died, but in no way does that exonerate him from his crime. It is a mercy that no innocents were hurt.

My goodness me people! Some of the comments here are really over the top. Please have a look at the video available practically every news portal; the Vios slammed into the deceased car at high speed after swerving to the right (possibly losing control as the Vios driver saw a motorcycle in his lane). While the deceased may have been speeding, he was not the cause of the accident. So lighten up please with your condemnations of the deceased.

Another young life lost tragically. Another family left asking "why" and "what if". And the same old questions remain. Were there preventive use-of-the-bridge rules established and constantly enforced? If so, what are they? Is speed on the bridge monitored? By who? In my neck of the woods, a combination of average speed cameras, crippling fines, double demerits after midnight and loss of licence have successfully eliminated speed-related accidents along the more tempting stretches. Recklessness expected on the roads may be preemptively curbed by the authorities using every trick in the book. If they want to.

I think it is fair of the next of kin to request a thorough investigation of the road mishap which resulted in the untimely death of a young son.I guess a postmortem will reveal more on the state of mind and body of the demised.Most importantly for me is what values did the parents sow when he was growing up.What would be really sad is if the parents were not involved responsibly with him and as a result this happened because of delinquency.I will say with utter respect to his parents and siblings that from my experience most if not all such tragedies are a result of poor parenting and abdicating parental responsibilities to teachers,society and government.Think of these issues seriously and you parents out there better start parenting right your kids from young and sparing the rod is not an option when disciplining your children.I really feel sad when I read these fatal accidents from drugs and road accidents.But there is little or no comment on raising kids the right way by most Malaysians.We are all reactive but sadly dont want to speak about how it is important to whip parents into taking responsibility for raising kids with the right moral values.Society is so sick with monstrous social issues which I strongly belief is because parents pamper if not dont bother about their behaviour or character but when something goes amiss will jump to their defence saying they are good obedient kids.So in short when there is a delinquent kid,attribute the delinquency to their parents.Can u imagine those kids who are ophans and raised in homes with little or no real parenting by their foster parents.We here about religions and their gurus/imans/priest but their roles have been non existent and I wonder how society is to evolve positively if parents dont wake up to parenting their own with right values and keeping them away from all the temptations which often lead to tragedies.God bless you all.

Police enforcement against road bullies and law breakers must be stepped way up to arrive at full compliance of traffic laws. Go undercover, install better and more cameras ....do it for the safety of our children.
