No Sabah chapter for Bersatu, says Dr M
Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today that the party will not form a chapter in Sabah.

It was previously reported that Bersatu was working on expanding to Sabah, after the exodus of Umno lawmakers from the state last week.
"Now that we are in Sarawak, those (elected representatives) in Sabah are asking why they are not allowed to join Bersatu. They want to be members as well.
"They feel that they can deliver better to the people in Sabah by being part of the state government and federal government,” the party stated at the time.
On Dec 1, Bersatu laid its foundation in Sarawak, opening 31 branches across the state.
However, Bersatu had agreed with its ally Parti Warisan Sabah before the 14th general election that they would not expand to the state.
On Dec 12, four MPs, nine assemblypersons, two senators and 21 division heads from Sabah Umno had quit the party.
