It is extremely disturbing and distressing that we waste money to fly an entourage to Beijing to apologise - probably because China is big and we need their patronage. It smacks like tributes of yonder days gone by.

How about starting the apologies right here in Malaysia to the very people the police (and government) should serve. And apologise because you really want to, not because China is important.

With the apology comes the self-examination and finally the redemption done through acts of sincerity. Mere words to a giant north of us will not change the entire attitude of the government and those in uniform that is bent on treating its own citizens shamefully.
