Anwar to visit Sarawak this weekend

PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to visit Kuching and Sibu on Sept 8 to meet Sarawak governor Abdul Taib Mahmud and Chief Minister Abang Johari Abang Openg.

Anwar's itinerary for the one-day visit was listed in a press statement issued by one Jenny Chiew, who claimed to be the chair of the "organising committee" for the trip – despite Sarawak PKR saying that they have no knowledge of who Chiew is.

Some of the contents of the statement were confirmed by Julau MP Larry Sng, who told Malaysiakini that PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah will accompany Anwar on his visit, his first to Sarawak since his May 16 release...
