P Ramakrishnan was re-elected president of Aliran at the 29th annual general meeting of the human rights group yesterday.

The AGM also elected Dr Francis Loh as honorary secretary, Dr Mustafa K Anuar as honorary assistant secretary and Anil Netto as honorary treasurer.

Also elected to the executive committee were Gan Kong Hwee, Dr Prema
Devaraj, Andrew Wong, Dr Maznah Mohamad, Dr Yeoh Seng Guan, Dr Andrew Aeria, Sarajun Hoda bin Abdul Hassan, Dr Khoo Boo Teik, Dr Subramaniam Pillay, Angeline Loh and Ong Eu Soon.

The AGM also passed two resolutions. It reiterates its support for the prime
minister's battle to eradicate corruption in Malaysia and calls upon him to direct the Attorney-General to act on the 18 high-profile corruption cases, the investigation for which, according to the ACA Director-General of the Anti-Corruption Agency, had been completed in May lasy year and handed over to the Attorney-General.
