Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari's is expected to announce a minor cabinet reshuffle and the name of the legislative assembly speaker soon, according to state government source.

"He met with his team today to discuss on the reshuffling of portfolios of the exco. Nothing much will be changed, just a minor reshuffle," said the source.

Amirudin was sworn in as menteri besar yesterday, replacing Mohamed Azmin Ali who has since joined Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's cabinet.

During the last Selangor administration, Amirudin was the state cabinet member for youth, sports, culture and entrepreneur development.

Batu Tiga state assemblyman Rodziah Ismail was also sworn in as a cabinet member yesterday. Her portfolio was not specified.

Amirudin's choice for speaker and deputy speaker would be a much-watched affair to see if he was obliged to follow the tradition of appointing someone that was not from his party.

The previous two speakers - Hannah Yeoh and Teng Chang Kim - were from DAP while their deputies were from PKR.

However, this arrangement might change because the make up of the coalition ruling Selangor has now changed following the formation of Pakatan Harapan.
